Ross Brady B-Grade SIngles - Results

4 Mar 2018 by Darts ACT

This year we were proud to introduce a new tournament to our calendar. In the memory of a great man who was an advocate for supporting our B-Grade players. Ross Brady loved his B-Grade players and believed they needed to have opportunities to help them to progress their game and to go to the next level. This year we held an event for players in memory of Ross.

A good turn out for this event with players for Cooma, Goulburn, Temora and Young in attendance. A total of 16 players with an average 17.50 and under, attended for the inaugural running of this event. The eventual winner is a player who well deserved the victory. Unfortunately for his opponent today was not his day, but we hope to see him back next year.

The final result saw Brodie overcoming his dad to take the first spot on the trophy. Both players gave us a great conclusion to a very good day. As one of our under 25’s player, it is good result for a player who is relatively new to the game. First win of many I’m sure.

Congratulations Brodie. A well deserved win and we couldn’t be happier for you.

We also ran a small A-Grade tournament for players who did not qualify for this event, but who turned up to support the event. Teresa Hore having won at the Marie Banks yesterday decided that even though she was eligible for B-Grade, she decided to sit this one out and go up against the guys in the A-Grade. Players who participated were John Taylor, Perry Butler, Glenn Casson, Teresa Hore and Dwayne Woodhouse. Glenn and Teresa both battled it our for the final, with Glenn becoming the eventual winner. Congratulations to Glenn and Teresa.

In closing, Darts ACT committee wanted to acknowledge players who didn’t play, but assisted in other area’s such as running the event and helping to score games or pack-up the venue at the end of the day. Dan Thomas, Julie Royle, Connor Woodhouse and Kathy Slusser. (Apologies to anyone I have missed) A-Grade players also assisted in scoring the B-Grade Singles and with pack-up and scoring the final. And to the players who chose to stick around after they were eliminated who also assisted in supporting the final and packing up the venue, thankyou to you as well.

A great effort by all. Thanks to everyone.
